Baden-Württemberg at the Intersolar 2009, the meeting point of the international solar industry

This year is the fifth time that Baden-Württemberg International (bw-i) is represented at the Intersolar fair with a joint stand. Together with innovative organizations and companies from Baden-Württemberg such as A. Raymond, ADITECH Flüssigkristallanzeigen, Antech, Better Energy, Hans Gerd Jahr, HB Tech, Hochschule Offenburg, Kienzle Systems, Solar Energie Zentrum Stuttgart, Taconova and WILHELM KELLER, bw-i represents the leading position of the German south-west in solar technology on the joint stand of Baden-Württemberg in Hall B6, Booth 220.

The Intersolar, with its large focus on photovoltaics, solar heat and solar manufacturing, was able to expand its influence in 2008 as a leading specialist trade fair for solar technology: Compared with the year before, the number of exhibitors increased for about 56 percent on 1.100 exhibitors and the exhibition space was doubled on 76.000 m². This year there is expected another increase in the number of exhibitors on 1.400. Also the exhibition space was extended on 100.000 m² and consists now of nine exhibition halls and an extensive outdoor area. With its relocation to Munich, Intersolar gained a new dimension concerning its internationality. With 47 percent of international exhibitors, the Intersolar emphasizes once more its influence as a leading specialist trade fair worldwide. Likewise also visitors are more international: Last year of the total of 52.000 visitors approximately 45 percent came from abroad (from 140 different countries). For this year there is expected an increase in the number of visitors on 60.000 people - thereof likely 50 per cent will come from abroad.

The solar energy industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in the world. Germany is on an international scale among the leading countries in solar technology. Compared to its European neighbours, Germany holds with a turnover of about 8 billion Euros not only the largest market for solar energy but also the most dynamic. The German South-West offers excellent conditions for companies in the field of solar systems and technology: an outstanding infrastructure for research, well-known technical faculties, local closeness to numerous companies in related high-tech branches and, last but not least, a large source of qualified specialists.

"At the Intersolar specialist trade fair, experts from Baden-Württemberg International will inform companies from Germany and abroad on the possibilities of investment and cooperation. They will point out that companies of the solar energy sector can find outstanding conditions for location in our federal state" said Dr. Michael Hagenmeyer, CEO of bw-i.
