„CANNES it be?“ - Baden-Württemberg at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity

bw-i is travelling with a delegation of creatives from the southwest to this year‘s Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

In 2015, Baden-Württemberg’s creative industry is again sending a delegation to France to take part in the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the well-known advertising and PR festival. Ten representatives from the areas of advertising, visual effects/animation, three-dimensional communication and film production, will be travelling to the south of France from 21 to 28 June 2015 to find out about the latest trends and make new international contacts at this get-together for creative specialists. Baden-Württemberg is the only federal state in Germany that is sending its own delegation to Cannes. 

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is the most important event worldwide for the advertising and communication industry. Since 1953, this meeting of minds has taken place directly after the Cannes international film festival on the Côte d’Azur, whereby so-called ‘Lions’ (comparable to the Oscars in the film industry) are awarded for the best works submitted. In the course of time, the festival has become an extensive networking event featuring diverse presentations and seminars with around 12,000 creatives in attendance from all over the world every year. 

This year, a Baden-Württemberg delegation will be attending the festival for the fourth time. Baden-Württemberg International (bw-i) organises the delegation’s trip to Cannes in collaboration with MFG Filmförderung Baden-Württemberg, the Film Commission Region Stuttgart and the Netzwerk Kreativwirtschaft Baden-Württemberg, as part of bw-i’s stated mission, namely to internationalise Baden-Württemberg’s industry.

Taking its lead from the “Cannes Lions“ awarded during the festival, the delegation calls itself the “BW Lions“ and has developed its own logo and website www.bwlions.de. During the festival,  the “BW Lions“ will be regularly reporting in a blog as well as via Facebook (www.facebook.com/bwlions), Instagram and Twitter in order to keep interested people informed about the latest developments. A 120-minute party with the Stuttgart DJ, Friction, is being organised by the “BW Lions“ for the 26 June 2015 on the beachfront at the French resort.

With the heading "CANNES it be?", the BW Lions invite the ones who cannot be in Cannes to give them some tasks - by asking the most burning questions you´ve ever had. Either as an interview with international colleagues or as a result of their own impressions - the BW Lions will answer the most exciting and funniest questions during the festival on the blog www.bwlions.de.
