Data Protection

Information on the use of cookies

On this website, we use cookies to make our website more attractive to visitors and to enable the use of particular functions. Cookies are small text files that your browser can store on your computer. The process whereby a cookie is stored is also referred to as “setting a cookie”. You yourself can adjust the settings of your browser according to your wishes and can do so in such a way that you are informed that cookies are being set, decide whether to accept this on a case-by-case basis or fundamentally rule out the use of cookies at all. Cookies can be used for a variety of purposes, for example to find out whether your computer has already had a connection to a particular website during a previous Internet session (persistent cookies) or to remember the last websites you visited during an Internet session (session cookies). We use cookies in order to offer you enhanced user comfort. Most of the cookies we use are deleted from your computer when the browser session ends (session cookies). Other cookies remain on your computer and enable us to recognise your computer the next time you visit our website (persistent cookies). In order to use our comfort functions, we recommend that you allow cookies to be accepted for our website.

If you provide us with personal data, the data will only be used for the specific purpose to which you agreed before entering the data. Data Protection for the use of Google Analytics

Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (in the following referred to as: Google). Google Analytics uses so-called ‘cookies’. These are text files that are stored on your computer and make it possible to analyse your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie regarding your use of this website is usually transferred to a server of Google in the USA, where it is then stored. As IP anonymisation has been installed on this website, however, your IP address will first be shortened by Google within the member states of the European Union or in other states that are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. The full IP address will be transferred to a server of Google in the USA and shortened there only in exceptional cases. Google will use this information on behalf of Baden-Württemberg International in order to evaluate your use of the website, collate reports on website activity and perform other services for Baden-Württemberg International relating to website use and use of the Internet. Google promises that the IP address obtained from your browser in the framework of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data of Google.

You can prevent cookies from being stored by appropriately altering the settings of your browser software. However, we must point out that, in this case, it is possible that you will not be able to use all the functions of this website.

You can also prevent Google from acquiring and processing the data that has been generated by the cookie and relates to your use of the website (including IP address). To do this, follow the link below and download the add-on available for your browser: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. After downloading, install the add-on.

Further details at: http://www.google.com/intl/de/analytics/privacyoverview.html (general information on Google Analytics and data protection).

Please note that the code gat._anonymizeIp(); has been added to Google Analytics on this website in order to ensure that IP addresses are anonymised (so-called IP masking).

Data Protection for the Use of Social Plugins

Use of social plug-ins of Facebook and Twitter

On our website, social plugins of the social network Facebook, the social platform XING and the video portal YouTube are used. These services are offered by the companies Facebook Inc., XING AG and YouTube LLC ("providers"). Facebook is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. An overview of the Facebook plugins and what they look like can be found at: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/ XING is operated by XING AG, Dammtorstrasse 30, 20354 Hamburg, Germany. An overview of the XING buttons and what they look like can be found at: https://www.xing.com/app/share

YouTube is operated by YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. An overview of  the YouTube plugins and what they look like can be found at: https://developers.google.com/youtube/terms/branding-guidelines

In order to protect your data more effectively when you visit our website, the plugins have been integrated into the website by means of a so-called "2-click solution" from Heise Online. This ensures that, when you go to a page of our website that contains such plugins, a connection to the servers of Facebook, XING or YouTube is not established immediately. Only when you activate the plugins and thus give your permission for the transfer of data does your browser establish a direct connection to the servers of Facebook, XING or YouTube. The contents of the respective plugin are then sent to your browser by the associated provider and integrated into the website page. As a result of the plugins being integrated into the website, the providers receive the information that your browser has called up the corresponding page of our website even if you do not have a profile that has been registered with the provider or are not logged in at the moment. This information (including your IP address) is directly sent by your browser to a server of the respective provider in the USA or Germany and stored there. If you have logged in to one of the social networks, social platforms or social video portals. the providers can directly assign your visit to our website to your Facebook, XING or YouTube profile. If you interact with the plugins, for example by clicking on the "Like", "Share" or "Play" buttons, the corresponding information is also sent directly to a server of the provider and stored there. The information is also published in the social network, on the social platform or in your video portal account and shown there in your contacts. The purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by the providers as well as your rights in this regard and your setting options for the protection of your privacy are indicated in the data protection information given by the providers at the following Internet addresses: Facebook Inc.: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/  XING AG: https://dev.xing.com/plugins/share_button/privacy_policy YouTube LLC: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/ If you do not want Facebook, XING or YouTube to assign the data collected via our website to your  profile in the respective service, you must log out of the corresponding service before activating the plugins.
